In many fields and hills of southern Chile, you can often see scattered groups of Chilean oaks or pellines (Nothofagus obliqua) as remnants of what used to be native forest in those lands. Their twisted and imposing silhouettes, contrasting against the beautiful sunsets, have always captivated me.



En muchos campos y colinas del Sur de Chile, suelen verse grupos desperdigados de robles chilenos o pellines (Nothofagus obliqua) como resabios de lo que en esos terrenos solía ser bosque nativo. Sus siluetas retorcidas e imponentes, que contrastan frente a los hermosos atardeceres, siempre me han parecido cautivantes.
